New for this year, throughout the month of September we will hold fellowship training runs twice a week. The aim is to help people in recovery to improve their health and prepare for the Run for Recovery 5k through a series of peer-led fellowship runs. Participants will have both fitness and fellowship with these runs – we are not a glum lot!
All in recovery are welcome. Yes, that includes family members who are engaged in al-anon and other recovery programs. The price is right for the training runs – free!
These fellowship runs will range in distance from 1 to 5 miles at easy to moderate paces so each runner can find a group that meets his or her specific level of running fitness.
Training run location:
Memorial Park South Picnic Lane – we meet near the volleyball courts off N. Picnic Loop, south of Memorial Drive. Memorial Park is just south of I-10 – take 610 to Woodway, go east (it becomes Memorial Drive), turn right on N. Picnic Lane, look for volleyball courts on right.
